Breathtaking Ministries’ Vision Statement:
“to exhort the Body of Christ to boldly
proclaim God's sovereignty and goodness through a proper
theology of suffering - one breath at a time"
Objective:
It is our passion to train the Body of Christ in such a way that they are
equipped to articulate, through the use of Scripture,
the concept of God's sovereignty and goodness even
amidst human suffering; the term we've coined for this
is a 'proper theology of suffering'.
What is a ‘proper theology of suffering’?
The idea of a ‘proper theology of suffering’ comes from
the theological concept that God is sovereign (in
complete control) and good, no matter what our
earthly circumstances; another definition would be
the concept that God,
through His sovereign will,
is fully-aware of what is going on
in one’s life, even when answers are few and far
between. Everything we go through in
life is for our good and, most importantly,
His glory.
Why this particular message?
Our founder, Amber Payne, is passionate about teaching the Body of
Christ about the character of God, in particular the
concept of His ultimate sovereignty and goodness - no
matter what our earthly circumstances; she sees the
value in teaching the masses that God is "not our
vending machine" and is more interested in us wanting
His presence in our lives more so than the
gifts He so graciously bestows upon us every single day,
including our health and earthly, material blessings.
Amber does not by any means seek earthly
suffering, as no one should. On the other hand,
though, she finds value in going through difficult
circumstances for not only her sanctification but for
teaching of others and, most importantly, for Christ to
be exalted through her weaknesses (2 Cor. 12:9-10).
Through what vehicle will the message go forth?
Breathtaking,
the book, is the greatest tool we have to use for this
type of ministry.
The Lord has gifted Amber in the area of writing and speaking and has given her the
calling to further the message of the Gospel through a
proper theology of suffering by using those abilities to
their fullest.
As a ministry,
we would also like to see the ministries’ website become
a catalyst for networking among others who have faced
difficulties but who have sought the Lord during those
times, i.e. other authors/speakers/every-day people. If
you are interested in being a part of this, please email
us at
amber@ambermetz.com. Moreover, in time and with the Lord’s leading, we plan on having
resources (books, articles, devotions, sermons,
video, etc.) available for those who would like to see
human suffering taught from a Biblical perspective.
On a further
note, Amber is also prayerfully considering writing
more books on this issue. At the very least, one
more will be published at some
point.
